Don't make such a fuss
Gossip about us
With your tongue back stab and thrust
Knives into people by your words
Your words they aren't swords
Let your words be tender and heal
Cultivate and communicate words that feel
Let your life be authentic and real
Meanwhile others seek to kill
Maybe not with guns and knives
Yet their words show
The foundation of their lives
The motives of their heart
From such self-exalting individuals
Don't entertain, just quickly depart
For all humanity is a work of art
I have no time to throw darts
Neither compile, collect, and cart
All the negative sayings of others
I want all mankind to be
My beloved sisters and brothers
I'm no control freak nor slave driver
Rather than a fighter, I'm mostly a lover
Hence if I had my druthers
There would not be
All of this stress and backbiting
Going around getting everyone down
Putting people in knots
Causing their faces to frown.
I desire a world where love abounds
Where stress is quickly diffused
People celebrate each other
Shun and flee from abuse
Reckless words are unkind and loose
When you tear down another
You always lose
Because essentially you
Are also tearing down yourself
Affirming further that you don't
Love and esteem yourself
Stop acting self-righteous
As if you are Santa's little elf
When called to give account
For the words you let out
Don't get boisterous and shout
Don't deny what you're about
Be real, repent, and begin to feel
Learn to lift up with your words
Lest what you're saying
No longer be heard
People aren't interested
In those who merely subtract
It's time for you to change and enact
A new state of mind
To give people time
To change, progress, and process
Their personal pain and stuff
Before you bulldoze through
With your criticism so gruff
How about being gracious
Pray for others and be tenacious
To lend a helping hand
Before leading a marching band
Of condescending critics
Who devour people for dinner
Making a meal of someone
Does not make you a winner
A new heart within do you need
So your words can feed
Rather than fester and infect
Because your impure heart
God has enabled you now
To discern and rightfully detect
Now acknowledge the error of your ways
And wholeheartedly decide
To make and implement a change today
Lest your criticisms continue
To spread your cancer
And cause people to hate you
Perhaps they already do
Be healed within your heart
Stop the pride! You're not so smart.
Humble yourself and set the focus on you
Until you learn to properly speak and do
Get healed of your own hurts and wounds
Let your words be gentle, take a new tune
Comfort rather than continually condemn
Instead of enemies, make some friends
Remember that you're words will surely
Be with you until the end
Therefore on criticism, your life don't spend
For this way of life is a disastrous dead end.
